Construction of the Course

Sand Capped Fairways

All holes and driving range are fully sand capped with USGA certified sand. The sand was sourced locally reducing the impact on the environment.

Toro Irigation System

The irrigation system was designed professionally by Giles Wardle CEng BSc MSc MIAgrE, of UK based irrigation specialist company Irriplan. The water is naturally supplied and stored in two large purpose-built reservoirs which also provide a spectacular water feature either side of the 10th green. Every opportunity has been taken to preserve nature on the whole estate.

USGA Standard Greens and Tees

All our Greens and Tees including the two practice greens were constructed to the exacting standards set by the USGA. This included rigorous testing of the sand used.

Bunkers

The course has 32 sand bunkers covering over 6,000 square meters. The sand in the bunkers was tested by European Turfgrass Laboratories Ltd to meet USGA standards and our resident professional also carried out extensive tests in sample bunkers. Each bunker is lined with Capillary Concrete to ensure lasting drainage and moisture balance. The bunkers are strategically placed to make the course more interesting and challenging to play. Once found the bunkers are designed to be fair for players who have developed the skills to escape, skills that can be honed in our practice area bunker.

Hole 1 Graphic.webp

Hole 1

This slight dogleg left opening hole isn’t going to be one of the toughest holes on the course, nor would you want it to be. It will be important to hit the fairway off the tee to get to this green in two shots. The green side trap is deep and will not be an easy up and down. If you are going to miss thisgreen, miss it left.

Hole 2 Graphic.webp

Hole 2

Off the tee you’ll want to hit the left side of the fairway to see what lies ahead for your second shotand avoid the fairway trap. Only the very big hitters will reach this green in two. A decision is required for the second shot, do you lay up short of the two approach traps or try and navigate the traps for an shorter pitch. If the pin is on the left side of the green you would be wise to carry the left approach trap with your second, or third, shot.

Hole 3 Graphic.webp

Hole 3

Don’t let the beautiful backdrop of this the shortest of the par 3’s, distract you. The green is shallow so club selection will be important from the elevated tee. Up and down will be difficult particularly if you miss the green on the opposite side of where the pin is.

Hole 4 Graphic.webp

Hole 4

This is the first hole running along the main lake. Many will be tempted to drive this short risk and reward par four. Out of bounds left will cause many to hit their tee shot right. Anything right will make it very tough to make birdie as you will be left with a very awkward pitch to the narrow green. An approach shot from the left side of the fairway is the best way to tackle this green

Hole 5 Graphic.webp

Hole 5

Another short par 4 where a decision is required at the tee. Going for it off the tee means taking on the extremely deep bunkers. If you decide to lay up short of the traps you need to decide how far back to lay up. Playing close to the traps will leave you a shorter shot but it will be blind to the elevated green. Laying up further back from the traps will give you visibility to the well protected green.

Hole 6 Graphic.webp

Hole 6

A long straight away par 4. Key word here is “straight” hit it straight and you’ll have no trouble avoiding trouble on this hole. The putting surface has many subtleties which will make it hard to read.

Hole 7 Graphic.webp

Hole 7

The elevated tees help with this the longest of the par 3’s. Block the water left of the green out of your mind and you will have no trouble hitting the large green. The easiest up and down will be from the approach short and right.

Hole 8 Graphic.webp

Hole 8

The small green at the end of this uphill twisted fairway is angled to reward the tee shot which finishes on the flat area of left side of the fairway. An approach from anywhere else will require precision shot making from an awkward lie.

Hole 9 Graphic.webp

Hole 9

Taking on the water on the right with the downhill tee shot will be the best way to attack the flag to the elevated green. Bail out left with the tee shot brings the left greenside trap more into play. Anything short of the green is likely to roll back towards you 15 to 20 metres.

Hole 10 Graphic.webp

Hole 10

This visually stunning golf hole is all there for you to see from the tee. Get it past the fairway traps on the right and you will gain another 30 to 40 metres using the slope of the fairway. Be aware with your second shot, the approach trap will fool you into thinking the green is closer that it is.

Hole 11 Graphic.webp

Hole 11

The 11th is a gorgeous short par 5 which runs atop a ridge which has Snagov lake to the left and Snagov swamp to the right. A long draw off the tee will give you the best angle to go for the green in two if you dare as it is a very severe penalty for any mishit shot. The green is perched on the narrow part of the ridge so even your third, or fourth shot demands pinpoint accuracy.

Wildlife Heaven

A Harmony of Golf and Nature

Our course is a mature wildlife habitat with over 30 species of birds making our golf course their home. In the evenings deer’s, hares and foxes can be seen on the periphery of the course. The adjacent lake is a very important carp fishing lake. One of our key objectives is to respect and enjoy our natural neighbours who have been here for a lot longer than us.
